Bladder Infection Symptoms

Author: Eddie Tobey

Bladder infections can be debilitating and painful. You will know it if you have one. The best thing to do is to catch it early on, by recognizing the symptoms. There are many of symptoms of bladder infections. The most common symptom is a frequent desire to empty the bladder, along with a burning sensation or even pain during urination. In some cases, the urine could be cloudy or foul-smelling, accompanied by a mild fever and shivering.

A kidney infection may cause more serious symptoms, including high fever, chills, and nausea. This may be accompanied by cloudy or bloody urine, severe abdominal pain, a burning sensation in the genital area, and frequent urination. Back pain accompanies most kidney infections. Bladder infection symptoms should not be ignored, but must be discussed with a medical practitioner immediately.

Most importantly, there are four major symptoms that mean a compulsory visit to the Doctor. These are blood in your urine; persistent pain in your lower back; mild or high fever with chills; and nausea or vomiting.

It is noticed that almost 90 percent of all women who get a bladder infection will get rid of the bacteria with the first or second antibiotic dose, but the symptoms often last for two to three days. A very few cases develop more serious problems with the kidneys. If any of the above symptoms are present, a physician should be contacted without delay. The symptoms associated with a bladder infection can also be similar to something like cancer, so it is imperative to always seek medical help and advice.
